The very first Scheepjes CAL was released 10 years ago. Scheepjes is celebrating this with no less than four new projects. What's extra special this time is that you can crochet or knit all these projects! So you can pick either a Crochet-A-Long (CAL) or a Knit-A-Long (KAL). The Dawn Chorus CKAL Experience is a tribute to the most beautiful songbirds.

After the beautiful Goldcrest Scarf (item no. CKAL2024-GC) by Martin Up North and the Blue Tit Cushion (item no. CKAL2024- BT) by Liz Barraclough, it's Esther's turn from It's All in a Nutshell. She designed the Bullfinch Blanket, a wonderfully warm and lovely colourful blanket, for the third kit from the Dawn Chorus CKAL series. The blanket is inspired by the bullfinch and the pattern is suitable for beginner, intermediate and experienced crocheters and knitters. You knit or crochet the blanket with a huge Limited-Edition Scheepjes Mega Whirl yarn cake, in join-as-you-go motif-based patterns. The beautiful Mega Whirl with a gradual colour gradient holds almost 3 kilometres of yarn! In addition to the yarn, the kit also contains some nice extras.

About the Bullfinch Blankets

This CKAL is suitable for confident beginner through to advanced crocheters or knitters. The CKAL will begin on 17 July 2024, approximately six weeks after the project is announced.

Esther of It's All in a Nutshell, will be releasing blogposts and helpful tips throughout the four weeks of the CKAL, typically on Wednesdays at 12 noon CEST. The information provided by Esther will include videos, extra photos, handy tips and additional details to aid your making experience. You can find her blog here.

Pattern and Support

Throughout the CKAL the pattern will be uploaded in English (UK & US), Dutch and German and will be available at Scheepjes.com, as well as in the Official International and Dutch Facebook groups.

In the Facebook groups, participants will interact with and receive extensive support from the global Scheepjes crafting community, consisting of over 100,000 members, the highly skilled mods and admin, and of course, from the designer herself, Esther of It's all in a Nutshell.
