Starfish

The last few days have been dull, overcast and the garden has had a good watering. A fascinating man, David King (who predicts the weather based on the moon's cycles and signs from nature), on the TV, assured the nation that this was nature's way of nurturing the corn after the 'dry, hot spell' we have had, so it can put on some good growth ready for the harvest. 'All well and good for the plants' I say, but the weather can have a tendency to dampen down the spirits, so what better way to cheer up a gloomy weekend than to...

The Meadow Mystery CAL Clue #5

The Meadow Mystery CAL Clue #5

I love Daisies, they are my all time favourite summer flower (Daffodils being my favourite Spring flower of course!), from the tiny little wild ones that grow in the lawn right up to the tall and proud Shasta Daisies that grow in traditional cottage style herbaceous borders. Project Inspiration - Crochet Blankets

I am really enjoying making a blanket as part of a CAL (crochet a-long), I am loving the 'Mystery' of it and I am finding receiving the pattern bit by bit really helpful, even if I have fallen behind the schedule! I have wanted to make a blanket with lots of different flower squares for ages and the CAL has allowed me to get on with it without being over faced by the whole project...I am viewing it as lots of mini projects and this approach is working well for me.  However, sometimes, it is nice to have a project...

The Meadow Mystery CAL Clue #4

This past week I have been busy getting ready for the DROPS Wool Super Sale and selecting my favourite patterns from the Drops Design collection, to feature as project kits in my store, I hope to add more kits over the coming months. This has left me less time for the Crochet-A-Long, and I am afraid, I am falling behind with the clues as a result, but it's not a race and I will catch up when I can!        MY CAL NOTES: Clue #4 - The Sunflower I had to make a deviation this week with my Sunflowers. The...

Cotton Pod Goes to 'Another Place'

Cotton Pod Goes to 'Another Place'

Well, we have been having some interesting 'Spring' weather here lately. Blue skies one minute, then hail storms the next. We even woke up to two inches of snow three days ago! This extreme weather reminded me of a trip we took during the Easter break, as the weather was also rather extreme that day too! One 'fine day' in April, my friend and I bundled five children, with all their winter woolies and wellies in to her 'bus' (as my girls call it) and headed to the North West coast of England. We had been planning our run out to...
