Easter Bonnet
Posted by Sharon Oldfield on
When I was a little girl Easter Bonnet parades were all the thing, so, I was delighted last Easter when my daughter's Reception class paraded in the church assembly with their wonderful Easter Bonnet creations... here are a few pictures of her Easter Bonnet...a little worse for wear....but, boy, did she wear it well! (She is quite the performer!)
I loved that their bonnets really were made by them with guidance from the teacher, (rather than the other way around ;-) ) and all individual too! (As a Design and Technology Graphic Design teacher before starting Cotton Pod I love seeing anything that children make themselves).
Whilst creating my Spring Wreath I had the idea to decorate a straw hat, that I had picked up at the local craft shop last Summer! (You never know when these crafty treasures might come in handy!) It was great fun decorating this Easter Bonnet ~ it could be used as an Easter/Spring decoration or even worn in an Easter Parade! Simply follow the link back to the Spring Wreath post to find the free crochet patterns for the flowers used. A Daffodil kit is also available in the Cotton Pod shop ~ this kit includes the pattern for the Primroses and Mini Flowers too.
