The Meadow Mystery CAL Clue #2
Posted by Sharon Oldfield on
I am still playing catch up with the DROPS Mystery CAL, as clue #3 has now been released. I don't mind playing catch up though, as it is quite nice seeing what is next and having that to look forward too. It is also really lovely to see everyone else's colourful CAL progress on the DROPS Workshop page on Facebook. If you are following the CAL, or interested in joining in, all the handy links for clue #2 and the supporting video tutorials are at the bottom of this post. In addition to this, I hope you find the following notes about the CAL useful too.
MY CAL NOTES: Clue #2 - The Buttercup
To begin with, I made a whole buttercup square, however, as I began to darn in the ends it proved a little tricky to get to the back of the flower because the white granny square is in the way.
To overcome this, I decided to make the flowers first and put a stitch marker in the final loop whilst I tidied up the yarn ends. Then all I had to do, was join the white, turn the piece, slip stitch around the dc from 3rd round of flower (stop to darn in the two remaining ends) and crochet the rest of the rounds to create the completed granny square.
When I put the squares all together I am beginning to get a feel for how this blanket is going to look....pretty exciting don't you think? I can not wait to make the next flower to go in the Meadow now!
Happy Hooking!
